BUSEGA

With a population of more than 200,000 people, the Busega District is one of five districts of the Simiyu Region of The Republic of Tanzania, East Africa. It’s bordered to the north by Lake Victoria, with the Mwanza-Musoma highway running through the district from south to north, passing by the western 'Ndabaka' gate of Serengeti National Park. Most inhabitants of Busega are part of the biggest ethnic group of Tanzania, the Sukumu-people. The Sukumu women are known to be more conservative and reserved. Working closely with them we discovered they have a great sense of humor, are curious learners, work hard and love to dance and sing together.

Empowered women, empower women.
